Oh my God. Rockstar finally remembered that PC exists. After what feels like a decade of being left behind, GTA Online on PC is getting a massive update on March 4, and this time, it’s not just some half-baked upgrade.
Rockstar just dropped a blog post, and PC players, you’re in for a treat. All the new vehicles, performance upgrades at Hao’s Special Works, animal encounters, access to GTA+ membership – everything is finally making its way to PC.
And that’s not all. Improved graphics, faster loading times, a new kernel-based anti-cheat system, and better voice chat moderation – it finally feels like PC players are getting the attention they deserve.
You can transfer your entire Story Mode and Online progress to the new version, so don’t worry about losing all the grind. But here’s the catch: if you choose to stay on the old version, you won’t be able to play with those who upgrade. That means once you pick a side, you’re stuck with it.
Also, FiveM support will continue on the old version while Rockstar works on bringing it to the new one.
We all know GTA 6 is dropping this fall, and everyone’s wondering what will happen to GTA Online. Will there be a separate Online mode? Will Rockstar pull the plug on GTA 5 Online? No one knows for sure. But one thing’s clear: Take-Two’s CEO confirmed they will continue supporting older games as long as the community is engaged. Translation: GTA Online isn’t going anywhere.
No more watching console players get all the cool stuff first, no more feeling like an afterthought. March 4 is PC players’ redemption arc. Upgrade your rig, get ready to hit that update button, because GTA Online on PC is about to level up like never before.
